A Materia Medica for the practitioner who sees children, built around eight remedies and how each looks in a child. Paul Herscu’s The Homeopathic Treatment of Children covers Calcarea carbonica, Lycopodium, Medorrhinum, Natrum muriaticum, Phosphorus, Pulsatilla, Sulphur and Tuberculinum.
Herscu wrote it because, early in practice, he found no modern Materia Medica dealing with children in both health and illness, and the book rests on what he saw himself. Each of the eight constitutional types is shown as parent, teacher and doctor would see the child. A remedy also comes with a confirmatory checklist and notes on infants, and a reference outline closes each chapter. Case histories are woven through the text. Alongside his own observations he draws on repertories and Materia Medica.
