A paediatric reference for the practitioner who sees children. Farokh Master’s Clinical Observations of Children’s Remedies (3rd edition) is a Materia Medica and also a guide to taking the case and to what is worth observing in children.
It is not a Materia Medica of provings. In Master’s own words in the introduction: “based purely on my experience, my own clinical observation (or confirmation)”. Master adds that the remedies described therefore may not match the coverage of a standard textbook. The US listing says the third edition includes new remedies, and the publisher’s introduction to the new edition says the examination and introduction chapters were rewritten.
His premise, set out in the introduction, is that once an emotion becomes a dominant part of a child’s personality it often supplies the most important symptoms pointing to the similimum. The book gives weight to history taking and systematic examination.
