For the unsolved case that may need a small, little-known or new remedy: Anne Vervarcke’s Rare Remedies for Difficult Cases is a database of cases, with transcripts and analyses in the sensation approach.
The cases keep the patient’s own words as far as possible, so that the expressions marking a remedy are on the page. For a remedy with only a few recorded cases, one phrase from a patient may be what links the book to an unsolved case of your own. Some of the remedies belong to kingdoms little used before, among them gemstones, sarcodes, imponderables and monera.
A case analysis shows the style. Of a patient whose fits of anger come up when she feels limited or controlled, Vervarcke writes that “she feels as if he jumps on her, as if he is a cat waiting for a mouse”.
