In 2008 Liz Lalor will present a Workshop in the UK
and Netherlands that she has called: Revealing the Disturbance of a Case: The
Eye of the Storm. This is an explanation of her unique approach.

believes deep within their own self that they deserve the disease state or the
emotional pain they are currently suffering. My challenge to all homoeopaths is to find me a patient with
a serious illness whether it is Mental, Emotional or Physical who does not
believe they have caused their own demise. I know if you dont know how to look for and find that Disturbance
inside of the patient you will not find the interplay of the Simillimum; that
interplay is our homoeopathic philosophy of like cures like. If we as homoeopaths do not know how to
find the eye of the storm; we will not find the Simillimum.
In homoeopathy there is interplay between the Mental,
Emotional, and Physical. In
treating a case of warts the majority of us would go for Thuja, and maybe it would work in 100% of the
cases, and maybe it will work in 70% of the cases. The problem is when we have chosen Thuja have we always understood the interplay
between the interconnecting components that link Like to Like?
Thuja has the Rubrics, Fear, of others approaching them, and the Rubric
Insanity, will not be touched.
Both of these are expected emotional and mental dialogues you would expect
from someone who has warts all over their hands or face and feels like that
they do not want to be touched; or feels unclean. In the majority of cases Thuja would pull it off and the remedy would
work. But I am not dealing with a
simple cases of warts in my clinic; I am dealing with patients who have severe
emotional and mental disease states, severe diseases like Cancers, Auto immune
diseases like Lupus, Thyroid antibodies, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohns,
Rheumatism, crippling Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis, to list just a few.
Did we really explore the defining Rubrics which
would indicate the Mental and Emotional inner conflict and stance that a person
who needed Thuja would
display; i.e. Delusion, body is delicate.
The Delusion Rubric: the body is delicate is the core underlying dilemma
and fear and disturbance of any Thuja case; that is why a person needing Thuja for their warts is so disturbed by the warts. The problem is we know that in
homoeopathy we have to find the interplay between the Mental stance, the
Emotional feelings and the Physical disturbance but do we know how to find
that, or look for it, or are we just content to wing it? With warts you can afford to do that
but if you want to cure serious disease we have to look much deeper. If we dont know how to listen for the
Disturbance in the case how can we with any confidence tackle serious diseases
which have devastating consequences for our patients?
There is always interplay with the correct remedy.
Like cures Like ruminates with energy; that energy is the Simillimum. Inherent in the medical pathology and
somatic presentation of our most serious diseases like Cancers and all the Auto
Immune diseases is internal conflict and destruction. If you want to treat patients with these serious diseases
and be able to cure, you have to be able to find the disturbance which caused
the destruction. The reason why it
is important to know the disturbance in a case is because any severe disease state
is always a reflection of our deep sub conscious struggles; our inner angst.
Disturbance within a patient will cause such conflict
and pain that it will eventuate in a physical illness or mental and emotional
illness which is reflective of the intensity of the conflict. Do we know how to find the Like to
Like energy interconnecting the Mental disturbance; the Emotional Disturbance
and the Physical disease? In
homoeopathy we do not treat the disease we treat the person; but the Simillimum
is the remedy which is able to contain the same intensity of conflict and
destruction to match the disease presentation. Our patients with Ulcerative Colitis, Crohns, Rheumatism,
and Cancer to list just a few, all ruminate with the energy of conflict.
If you cant identify the inherent conflict you
will not be able to help your patient; it is as simple as that. If you as a homoeopath do not know how
to look for the inner conflict in the case you will not find the Simillimum.
Do you know how to find and listen for that
Disturbance?
Revealing the Disturbance of a
Case.
Where do we find the Rubrics which will lead us to
the Simillimum?
The Rubrics that point to the correct remedy to cure
these cases are found within the Delusion Rubrics; these are the Rubrics which
ruminate with conflict and disorder. The Rubric: Delusion he has committed a crime is not meant to
be taken literally, it is reflective of a persons inner belief that they have
in one way or another committed a sin or must have done something wrong or in
some way be inherently evil. In
all serious illness the Delusion Rubrics will be in the core of the case
analysis; they are always revealing in that they show up the eye of the
storm. I say again if we do not
know how to find the eye of the storm; we will not find the Simillimum.
I do not believe that you will find the Simillimum in
these serious disease states if you do not recognize how to look for the
disturbance in the case. Hahnemann
said we should look for the Peculiar, Queer, Rare and Strange symptom. This is not often taught or emphasized to be as important as
it is. If you dont look for what
is unusual or uncomfortable or disturbing in the case you do not find the cure,
nor will you know what to do in the case; nor will you understand your patient;
in fact, we will miss the whole case altogether.
The extract of the Anacardium case presented here is an
extract from the lecture.
Anacardium Trauma: Clairvoyant ability to see all the crimes of the past lives that she has
committed. She feels overwhelmed by how evil I am. Feels separate from other people in
the world; they will never understand me. Whether the issue of the past lives is real or
not, the essence of the case is that she knows this trauma as a truth inside of
her. She believes she committed those terrible crimes. Whether I also take this as reality or
reflective of either a capacity or desire to commit those crimes in this life
is immaterial; the psychodynamic meaning of feeling guilty and a terrible
person who has done evil things is the basis of the repertorisation. She trains with a spiritual
teacher who helps her stay with Spirit so she can undo the karma in this life and know
how to listen to Spirit.

Medorrhinum Trauma: She says of her concern around the issue of suicide,
How do I reconcile
meaningless, purposelessness, so as to avoid suicide?
I write letters that will hurt and then I burn
them; my Dad wrote such letters and sent them; I have learnt not to send such
things. Here I feel I have a sense of boundary; I have terrible reactions when
on the few occasions I have hit my son; I live in fear of repeating the trauma
I experienced as a child and as young adultphysical violence from my Dad,
desperate sarcasm as a childphysical violence from my mother as a young adult.
I do not shy away from my inner self, I fantasize about life as a hermit, I
enjoy solitude. I suffer if I dont get enough time alone, I really want to
reach a place where I can accept my complexities, perhaps I will accept that I
am not who I wish to be; a calm, contented, trusting person. Definitely
attacking, critical when overwhelmed or pressured, then when the pressure is
sustained overtime I implode; loss of meaning, suicidal. I have a profound
sense of being broken, of having been so for such a long long time, my grief
and rage express a loss of a self, I remember somehow, somewhere. There is
great anxiety about not being able to sustain the faade of functioning and
coping; albeit only just most of the time and sometimes not at all; great anxiety
about collapsing. Overwhelming sense of loneliness because I am so extreme this
alienates me from many, though I dont feel that extreme. I alternate between
trying to be a good girl so as to be accepted as a normal citizen and then I
get really angry, deeply resentful about towing the line; conventions etc.
mostly this anger ultimately is towards myself for allowing myself to be
manipulated.

The Veratrum album case presented here is an extract from
the lecture.
This Veratrum case reverberates with a crisis of self examination
which reflects both the Delusions of herself as God, and herself and her
disease as the victim of Gods judgment.
Gods vengeance has been absorbed into the core
psychodynamic crisis which is subsequently born to fruition in the very nature
of her disease. In this case the woman believes she deserves the
Adenocarcinoma; she seeks no treatment. This is a suicide case. Veratrum
album moved her stance on
whether she deserved to die; Veratrum viride subsequently moved her Delusion of curing her own
cancer.

The woman informed she did not want to pursue
conventional Radiotherapy treatment as advised by the medical doctors as she
knew that she had the cancer as a result of the fact that I have never
chosen to live. When she
found out she had cancer she asked what have I done to myself? She was extremely sure that because she
had no passion to live
and that she had never had any passion to live that she had deserved the
cancer. It is wrong to not know what do with the gift of life, therefore I
dont deserve it.

Q. Do you think that since taking
the homoeopathic remedy your grounding [this was the presenting concern in her
first consult; feeling ungrounded in the world,] in dealing with the world is
better?
A. Yes I think so, what I would
call the first ray element of will or power has found its right place in a way
that it hasnt up till now. It is not nearly as shocking to a relatively
sensitive personality vehicle as it used to be. So the personality vehicle has
the strength to contain and hold that potency. The other thing that has
happened since taking Anhalonium is that it is as though the masculine
principle has taken its right place which is absolutely standing in support of
the feminine principle; absolutely making its commitment to serve the enduring
values which are held and ensured that they get carried into the world; thats
what Anhalonium has done. The impact on me is a much greater sense of
capability and of authenticity as there is a much greater representation in the
outer world of what is being experienced in the inner world. As that more
extroverted work goes forward I get feedback from the world that I would never
get. It has opened parts of the world to me that I normally dont have access
to; left to myself I live a relatively introverted lifestyle but that is not
good enough for the work that I have to do and its certainly not good enough
for what Anhalonium is asking of me so the fact that I have been able to adopt
that stronger position is that I have meet the world with a new face different
parts of life with people who I would normally wouldnt speak to, activities
that I have had to engage in that I am not used to where I have had interesting
and unusual response from people that are very affirming.

The Delusion Rubrics
reveal the Disturbance of the Case.
Once we identify the presenting
disturbance we become aware of how the person has constructed their self and
their presenting disease around a specific Delusion Rubric. The disturbance is the foundation upon
which the person has constructed the story that is their life. In homoeopathy if we can delve into the
original crisis that created the first Delusion Rubric we have the remedy
picture and we have the cure for the crisis of the persons existence and
subsequent disease. Within the
Delusion section of the repertory are the patients life story, disease, and
homoeopathic cure. Homoeopaths
have often underestimated the power of insight that lies behind what is the
largest section within the mind section of the repertory.
If you do not know how to find the
underlying Disturbance how do you expect to treat and cure serious illness?
A lecture in this format has never been
presented before that directly targets the emotional conflict or disturbance
within each Constitution. I am able to bring to my teaching 27 years of
experience of working in the area of Counselling, and Somatic Psychotherapy.
In this lecture series
Lalor presents the same dissection of the emotional psyche or complexities of

homoeopathic constitutional type. Lalor is able to draw upon her experience

written articles on the remedy picture of Agaricus and Alice in Alices Adventure in
Wonderland by Lewis
Carroll; published in Homeopathy in Practice UK. Links magazine have published Lalors essay on the
characters Frodo and Gollum, and the remedy pictures of Anacardium and Mancinella, in Tolkiens tale of The Lord of the
Rings. Homeopathy in
Practice UK 2005
published Lizs essay on the character of Hamlet as the remedy picture of Muriaticum
acidum. The American
Journal of Homeopathic Medicine has published an article of two Tarentula hispanica cases and the character of Iago
in Shakespeares Othello. The article is titled Revengeful Insanity: love;
from disappointed: Tarentula hispanica. Links magazine published Lalors essay on three Anhalonium cases and the character of Queen
Galadriel in Tolkiens tale of The Lord of the Rings. The American Journal of Homeopathic
Medicine Spring 2007 has recently published an Anacardium case in which the woman who was
clairvoyant and clairaudient was aware of all of her sins from this and many
lives. The American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine Summer 2007 also has
published an amazing case of a Baryta Carbonica Case where the woman has until taking the remedy
struggled intellectually as a result of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
Lalor has worked as an integrative natural
therapist for 27 years; with a thriving practice in Melbourne, Australia,
covering all aspects of health; in particular specializing in the treatment of
infertility. Her successful treatment of her sons illness was the catalyst in
cementing her belief in the unique healing abilities of homoeopathy, and the
altruistic inspiration behind her book. Her book A Homeopathic Guide to
Partnership and Compatibility is the first Materia medica to be sold in mainstream bookshops. Lalor
is an originator of a Fertility Program based on the ideology of Dr. Leon
Vannier which was the inspiration behind the formulation of the program. Lalor
